Explain the conduction system in single phase induction type energy meter?

Friends, today in this article we will learn about the conduction system in single phase induction type energy meter. I am going to give information about all these in a very good way. So let’s start.

Single phase induction type energy meter-

It is most suitable as an AC energy meter. Its operating mechanism has the following four parts-

Deflector or conduction system –

This conduction system has two electromagnets which are called shunt or series magnets.

The laminated core of these magnets is made of silicon steel and these laminations are riveted so that there is proper distribution of flux for good performance. In shunt magnet, the core is made by collecting M-shaped laminations. A compensating coil is wound on the central limb of the shunt magnet. This magnet is called voltage coil or pressure coil. It has very high turns, it is connected to the supply.

The second is a series magnet, it also makes the laminated core of the magnet with silicon steel plates. Its core is U-shaped and two coils of thick wire are tied on both parts of the core. It is called a series magnet and is connected in series with the magnet load. There is a constant gap between the two magnets. This gap is given to the disc to rotate freely.

What did you learn today :-

Now you must have known what is the conduction system in single phase induction type energy meter. You must have got the answer to all these questions well.
